The Minutemen Project

The controversial, private group of vigilantes consisting primarily of volunteers has taken on a new mission to protect those on the border who would like a wall built on their property. The idea is to accept funds from generous donors and spend time building walls to protect the property of American citizens living along the border. In all honesty, I am entirely for it. My take on the "build a wall" issue is that it isn't necessary. Beefing up the Border Patrol and/or adding the National Guard sounds dandy to me. However, the wall is more than likely a waste of money. But this is a case where Patriotic, law-abiding citizens want to help out those who need the assistance. Too long has this country sat on its hands when it comes to dealing with the Mexican border. I am quite glad that these men and women are speaking out against the complete incompetence of every president starting with Reagan. I will never forgive Reagan for granting amnesty to all of the illegal immigrants we held in our country and then not giving a damn when they streamed across the border and took our jobs (because it benefitted the CEO's and District Managers to pay minimum wage or worse, under the table).
My gut feeling tells me that legislation will be passed that moderately satisfies the hungry appetite of these radically-upset Minutemen. However, I am sure they will be able to accept the McCain/Kennedy bill:
  1. $2000 fine
  2. Pay back taxes
  3. Learn English
  4. Get a Social Security Number
  5. Work for 6 years
  6. Then get in line behind everybody else for citizen ship

It should do well. Sign the petition>>>>
